09.07.05 Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos: first finalists of the World Series in St. Petersburg.In the first men's semifinal only Brazilian pairs, Emanuel/Ricardo and Tande/Franco, fought for the big final.
In the first set beginning teams were equal till an 11-11 tie, with a 15-14 turning point. Emanuel/Ricardo had their rivals Tande and Franco to make mistakes and earned a 3-point margin (17-14). It was an easy 21-16 victory for 2004 Olympic champions. Emanuel and Ricardo current world toppers were also leading throughout the second set. The outcome was evident with 13-8 on the scoreboard. Although their rivals placed second in the world rank wouldn't give up. But after the blunder with 15-10 score they lost their spirits and could not give a fitting rebuff to their famous fellow countrymen. In the end, Emanuel and Ricardo posted 21-12 (2-0) win and qualified for the final.
